CorgiChomp — Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2, 2026
CorgiChomp is a free browser game operated by Christopher Harris. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and no logins — you just play. This page explains the small amount of data involved anyway, in plain terms.
What we never collect
The game does not ask for, and has no way to receive, your name, email address, phone number, or payment details. There are no accounts, so there is no account database. We do keep anonymous statistics about how the game is played — described in Game statistics below — and those can never be traced back to a person.
What your own browser stores
Your progress and settings live on your device only, in your browser's local storage — your best score and best level, badges earned, day streak and banked streak saves, daily-challenge history, and your chosen difficulty, style, controls and sound setting. We cannot read any of it; the game reads it on your own device to draw your badges and streak.
One additional value, corgiCid, is a random string your browser
generates for itself the first time you play. It is not linked to you, is never
shared with anyone, and exists only so the anonymous statistics below can tell
"one person played five times" apart from "five people played once."
The site also installs a service worker, which caches the game's files so it keeps working offline. That cache holds game assets, not information about you. Clearing your browser's site data for corgichomp.com removes both.
Game statistics
When a game ends, the site sends a short anonymous summary to our own server
(the same corgichomp.com you are already on — it is not shared with anyone else).
It contains only game facts: the mode you played, your score and level, how long
the run lasted, how many badges you have, your streak length, your difficulty,
and whether you were using the D-pad or the joystick. It is tagged with the
random corgiCid string described above.
We use it to see which levels are too hard and whether people come back — the things that tell us what to fix. We do not store your IP address and we do not store your browser's user-agent string; the server records only whether the device was a phone or a desktop. There are no cookies involved and nothing is shared with any third party.
If you arrived through a link we tagged — an ad, or a link in one of our own
social profiles — that summary also records the campaign labels from the web
address you arrived on (the utm_source, utm_medium and
utm_campaign values, for example "tiktok"). These describe
the link, not you: they are labels we wrote ourselves so we can tell which
of our own posts and ads actually bring people who enjoy the game. They are read
fresh from the address bar each time the page loads and are never remembered
between visits, so they cannot be used to follow you around. Anything that is not
a short, plain label is discarded by the server rather than stored.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, the game does not send these statistics at all. Clearing this site's storage also resets the random identifier.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID
G-DV38LS9BL7) to understand roughly how many people play, which pages
they reach, and whether the game is working. Google sets cookies to do this and
receives the associated data, which typically includes your approximate location
derived from your IP address, your device and browser type, and which pages you
visited. It does not tell us who you are.
Advertising
CorgiChomp is advertised on Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram). Two things follow from that:
- The Google Analytics property above is linked to a Google Ads account, so aggregate measurements and audience data are shared with it to see whether ads are reaching anyone.
- If you arrive here by clicking an ad, the link may carry click and campaign identifiers in the URL. These tell us the ad worked. They do not identify you.
We will never sell your personal information. That one is not going to change.
We do share limited measurement data with the advertising and analytics providers we use — currently the ones named above. We may add, change, or drop providers over time as we try different places to advertise the game. When that happens, this page is updated to say so.
Children
CorgiChomp is family-friendly, and children are welcome to play it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, including children under 13 — there is no mechanism in the game to submit any.
Your choices
- Clear or block this site's storage and cookies in your browser settings at any time. The game still works; it just forgets your best score.
- Opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with Google's browser add-on.
- Adjust what Google and Meta use to personalise ads in your Google Ad Center and your Meta ad preferences.
Changes
If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves. There is no mailing list to notify, so the date is the honest signal.
